Main duties of the job
- As the Senior Contract Lead you are expected to lead the provision of an efficient, effective, and co-ordinated contract management portfolio capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the goals of the ICB.
- This will include leading on the delivery of specific contracts and/or specific portfolio, and support end-to-end processes for provider management and specific contracting responsibilities in driving transformation, as well as value for money.
- This role will lead an efficient, effective, high quality, professional and well-coordinated contract management service for the ICBs acute care contracts across a number of providers and ensure that all statutory, regulatory and NHS contractual requirements are met, and ensure alignment with, and delivery of, the requirements of each individual ICB. This will include relationship management with other ICBs and providing regular and ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required by the individual ICBs.
- The Senior Contract Lead will ensure that ICB standard processes are implemented and maintained, and facilitate discussions and advise colleagues as to how best practice might be adopted in the definition of future processes, document those processes as they are agreed and oversee their delivery.
- A key aspect of this role is to work effectively and proactively with other teams in the ICB, other ICBs and CSU including Finance, Business Intelligence, Quality and Performance.

Person Specification
Experience
Essential
- - Experience in communications and stakeholder management
- - Experience of managing and motivating a team and reviewing performance of the individuals.
- - Experience of contracting and performance management
- - Expert knowledge of NHS National tariff payment system, and associated financial and information flows
- - Experience of working within a complex and challenging environment, and managing demanding contract relationships with multiple stakeholders
- - Understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunity and good working relationships.
- - Evidence of planning and delivering programmes, projects and services on time using established project management techniques
- - Previously responsible for a budget, involved in budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes and achieving financial target
- - Extensive knowledge and experience of using the NHS Standard Contract

- - Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
- - Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
- Member of relevant professional body
