Main duties of the job
Are you a Healthcare Assistant with an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care with experience of working in a variety of healthcare settings? Are you looking to be part of a friendly and supportive team who put patient and family care at the heart of everything we do? If so, this exciting opportunity could be for you!
As a Senior Healthcare Assistant Hospice at Home, you will work as part of the Clinical Nurse Specialist led Hospice at Home team and will liaise closely with all other agencies involved in the care of patients in the community with life limiting illnesses.
The post involves predominately lone working during both day and night and the role involves a great variety of tasks which will require a flexible approach to work.
You will have an NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care and a willingness to work towards to NVQ level 3.
You will have effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, communicating with patients, those important to them and colleagues.
Experience of working in a palliative care environment would be advantageous but not essential for this role.
Due to the nature of the community role and working throughout Worcestershire, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. Mileage allowance is included in addition to salary and travel time between visits are factored into your work patterns.

Job responsibilities
JOB SUMMARYThe Hospice at Home Health Care Assistant will be one of a team, providing nursing care and support to the patient and carer within various care environments in the community, including the patients own home. The post involves predominantly lone working during both day and night.
The Health Care Assistant will work as part of the Clinical Nurse Specialist Led Hospice at Home Team and liaise closely with all other agencies involved in the care of patients in the community with life limiting illnesses. Team members will be trained and supported by St Richard's Hospice.
Individuals will need to demonstrate their ability to work both alone and as a member of a team and have a flexible approach to the variety of jobs they will need to undertake.
