Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Senior Housekeeper at Renal Ward.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent organisational skills to join our team. The main focus of this role is to maintain a pleasant and welcoming environment for patients and families by ensuring the unit is kept clean, tidy and well stocked. The role also involve helping the nursing team with the delivery of patient food and beverages. The role also involves reception cover.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of House keeper is to work as an integral part of the ward team ensuring a high quality service and environment to patients and liaise with, nursing team, patients and families.

Job responsibilities
The main responsibilities of Housekeepers are:
- To work as an integral part of the Ward team ensuring a high quality service to patients and to provide a service that ensures that the patients needs are satisfied and Ward requirements are met.
- To assist the Ward Manager to ensure the appropriate and effective delivery of facilities services in order to properly maintain the patient environment.
- To supervise an effective waste segregation and disposal service ensuring compliance with all relevant procedures and legislation.
- To work effectively as part of the ward/department team
- To ensure patients have appropriate food and drink provided.
Person Specification
Attainments
Essential
- Literate, articulate and numerate
- Effective use of spoken English
- Knowledge of COSHH and Infection Control Policies or ability to undertake training in this area
- Basic Computer Skills
Desirable
- Experience in the acute NHS
- Previous experience as House keeper or in similar role
