Are you an experienced and motivated individual looking to join a high performing mental health Trust?

We are very excited to be able to offer a suitably qualified Mental Health Professional Band 6 post within our established multi-disciplinary Recovery Team in Cirencester

The successful applicant will gain valuable Mental Health experience within well respected and successful services and work in both urban and rural parts of scenic South Gloucestershire. We are looking or a motivated individual with experience of working in a mental health services.

Main duties of the job

As the ideal candidate for this post you would be an experienced and highly competent mental health practitioner looking for a new challenge and seeking an opportunity to make a real difference to people's lives. We're looking for candidates with excellent communication skills and a passion for helping those experiencing a mental health

You will have the ability to build relationships with key partner agencies and help us to integrate more effectively with other services, as well as thriving on working in a high-pressure situation. This service will also give you the opportunity to work with specialists from a number of different professions.

We are seeking a motivated and innovative individual with a strong interest and passion in working with adults with serious mental illness to join these friendly, progressive and dynamic multi-disciplinary teams providing comprehensive mental and social care. We can offer an opportunity to develop your skills and experience and to contribute to the development of a high quality service.

You will hold a registered mental health qualification and be able to demonstrate post registration experience at Band 5 or above. You will need to provide evidence of continual professional development.

The teams provide a planned needs lead 9am-5pm five days a week service. The hours are 37.5 hours per week.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Registered Nurse Mental Health (RMN) or Registered Social Worker or Occupational therapist
  • Evidence of continued professional developmentEssentialApplication form and interview

Desirable

  • Evidence of formal post registration learning
  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)

LENGTH AND / OR NATURE OF EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Working knowledge of Early Intervention, Primary Care, Recovery, Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment (CRHT) approach and social inclusion
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook

Desirable

  • Experience of collaboration working with other agencies including the voluntary sector

PROFESSIONAL / MANAGERIAL / SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health Act & legal aspects of Mental Health care
  • Demonstrable skills in risk assessment and management
  • Knowledge of the different approaches to mental health assessment
  • Knowledge of evidence based intervention with service users in an all phases of mental illness
  • An understanding of national policy in relation to mental health
  • Up to date clinical knowledge including risk assessment, dual diagnosis and health and social care needs

Desirable

  • Knowledge of child care / protection issues
  • Ability to work on social factors affecting mental distress e.g. accommodation, substance misuse, domestic violence, welfare rights
