Job summary

Due to an internal promotion we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our multidisciplinary Team within the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Service at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.

We have secured a new operational service based at Winwick, Warrington and satellite units in Sefton / Knowsley & Liverpool areas to support delivery of the service across the Trust footprint. We will also support opportunities for hybrid working in line with operational demands.

We are looking for experienced occupational health nurses (SCPHN-OH).

We will consider individuals with Occupational Health experience who have completed the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing - Occupational Health Degree, level 7. If you require further information please contact the named person on the advert for more information.

Main duties of the job

The role involves, case/sickness absence management, pre-placement health assessments, immunisations/vaccinations/phlebotomy, health surveillance and medical assessments.

In addition to the Trust, you will be required to provide an expert and reliable Occupational Health Service to other paying private organisations, including other NHS employers and private companies/businesses.

The service uses Civica Occupational Health (OPAS-G2) software which supports all clinical functions.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered General Nurse (Level 1)
  • Recognisable qualification in Occupational Health enabling Registration on Part 3 of the NMC Register

Desirable

  • HAVS, audiometry and spirometry CPD accredited training
  • NEBOSH / H&S Certificate
  • Masters Degree in Occupational Health

Knowledge/ Experience

  • Significant post registration experience

  • Evidence of CPD
  • Experience of working within the NHS
  • Experience of working with confidential information
  • Experience of delivering workplace immunisations
  • Experience of case management and the production of quality complex reports to support the management of sickness/absence
