Job summary
Changing Futures is a resource for Bristol. Our aim is to create sustainable change at individual, service & system levels and influence government policy & local commissioning. In line with Bristols Multiple Disadvantage Strategy, this role will be integral to embedding My Team Around Me across Bristol as the way of supporting those most in need of coordinated multi-agency support.
Main duties of the job
The job purpose is to support teams across a pathway within Bristol services to adopt and practice My Team Around Me where proactive and preventative need is identified through specific pathway forums, incorporating trauma informed practice and promoting an inclusive approach.
About us
Second Step Second Step is the lead agency, in a partnership of organisations, chosen by Bristol City Council, to deliver the MHCLG Changing Futures programme in Bristol to support people experiencing multiple disadvantage, including discrimination, homelessness, domestic abuse, mental health issues, drug and alcohol issues, and contact with the criminal justice system.
Job responsibilities
Support development of role in relation to specific system pathway, embedding role into existing case discussion forums for that pathway, supporting adaptation of processes for identifying people experiencing multiple disadvantage who could benefit from an MTAM approach and collegiate processes, e.g. TORs, meeting agendas Attend identified case discussion forums (e.g. MASH / CRG) and aid identification of people who could benefit from the proactive and preventative MTAM approach Support MTAM lead to collaboratively develop MTAMs, using the shared safety planning tool and other MTAM resources where needed, offering practical and reflective support throughout the life of the team Effectively use the MTAM Objectives, trauma informed principles and knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion to inform your practice and support the development of others practice

Experience
Essential
- Proven experience of contributing to the development of innovative service approaches or models
- Proven experience of co-production with clients of services
- Proven experience of promoting and taking action on equality, diversity and inclusion
- Proven experience of building relationships and working effectively in multi-agency settings
- Demonstrable experience and interest in working with people with histories of trauma and complex needs e.g. personality disorder traits/presentations, multiple and severe disadvantage including a range of adult mental health problems and/or substance misuse, forensic histories and homelessness.
- Ability to formulate (make sense of) different ways of adapting and surviving using trauma informed and attachment frameworks.
- Experience of influencing staff within organisations fostering system change
- Experience of working autonomously across services or teams
- Experience of evaluation and audit
- work with these to facilitate engagement with staff.
- An understanding of the experience and needs of staff working with people who present with complex needs theories of vicarious trauma etc.
- An understanding of diversity in learning needs and thoughtfulness in how to promote inclusion.
Desirable
- Lived experience of multiple disadvantage, either as a service user or carer
- Knowledge of legislation, policies, strategies and other relevant work related to homelessness and mental health.
- Knowledge of psychological theories in the field of reflective practice.
