Job Description
Job summary
Full time sonographer required based at our Falmer site, Brighton. The site is a community CDC and is all on an out-patient basis. We offer seven days a week service and there is flexibly for days of working.
We require an experienced sonographer to scan and report abdominal, gynaecological, small parts and basic DVT scan. The ability to also scan MSK is desirable.
Main duties of the job
Operating Sonographic Equipment: Use ultrasound equipment to capture images of organs, tissues, and blood flow. Experience with different manufactures of equipment is helpful.
Patient Interaction: Prepare and position patients for the procedure, ensuring their comfort and safety. Provide a high standard of patient care at all times.
Image Analysis: Analyse the images to identify any abnormalities and provide clinical report to physicians.
Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and document the procedures performed.
Equipment Maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain the ultrasound equipment to ensure it is in good working condition. Reporting issues or faults to the site manager.
Quality: Image quality and consistent reporting methods are essential and ability to comply with imaging protocols is important.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Education: Degree in diagnostic medical sonography. or a related field such as Diagnostic Radiographer with suitable post graduate certificates in ultrasound imaging.
- Certifications: HCPC registered practitioner and clear DBS
- Experience: At least 3-5 years employed as a sonographer
Desirable
- Skills: Strong technical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to explain procedures to patients clearly.
