Job summary
The post-holders will join the friendly and enthusiastic clinical team based at the Prince Charles Hospital (PCH) as a middle grade doctor covering general paediatrics and a neonatal unit (admits babies above 32 weeks gestational age).
The post holder participates in 1:10 rota. These Posts include opportunities to undertake further postgraduate qualifications including a postgraduate certificate medical education, Cardiff University; MSC/ Fellowships in paediatric specialties.
This post is fixed term for upto 12 months due an ongoing review of the Medical model.

Main duties of the job
Conducting daily ward rounds in the Children's Ward, Neonatal Unit and to report to the consultant in charge.
Supervision to Junior medical team and acts as a source of advice and support to the nursing staff.
See Patients in Emergency Department when required based on clinical and team situations.
To carry out safeguarding medical examinations when adequately trained.
Attend specialist clinics as per area of interest.
See new and follow up General Paediatric patients in the clinics under supervision of consultant.
Participate in clinical/medical audit, teaching and research within the children's service.
Managing the acute paediatric assessments working alongside clinical team with consultant support.
