Our dialysis team is currently has a vacancy for a band 5 nurse. You will have experience in acute hospital care and be willing to rise to the challenge of learning new skills guided by a supportive team of experienced nurses.

The role is based in Guernsey, where you will benefit from living on a beautiful Island with a different pace of life whilst benefitting from working for an acute London Trust with access to the education, research and networking, supporting your career progression and ambitions.

We support all out band 5 nurses to access and complete a specialist Renal course with placements at Guys Hospital to experience a busier and more acute setting.

We can give you advice on housing and life in Guernsey and consider arranging a local visit so you can see the unit in person.

Main duties of the job

Guernsey Renal Unit is a community based dialysis service of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) providing outpatient dialysis services for a chronic patient group.

GSTT Renal Service is one of the largest in SE England. We are one of the leading centres in the UK for transplantation, dialysis and related care. As a band 5 nurse, your role will be to deliver safe, effective, compassionate care in a friendly, patient centred environment. You will also be involved in health promotion and patient education programmes including our dialysis shared-care initiative and nurse led clinics.

Job responsibilities

-You will be responsible for carrying out clinical practice within the designated clinicalareas, ensuring that high-quality, current evidence-based nursingassessment, care planning, implementation, interventions, and evaluationsfor patients is provided from admission through to discharge.

- You will be responsible for the application of knowledge across the range of work procedures and practices, underpinned by theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

-You will act as an advocate for patients within the area, to ensure a patientorientated approach is applied to the delivery of care

- you will ensure that patients receive high-quality clinical care and a good patient experience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs anddoctrines.
