Using your clinical experience and skills you will be responsible for theassessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of programmes of care, both for a specific group of patients as the named care provider and in supporting the care of all patients on the ward / unit
You will assist in the management and organisation of work, as required, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times and will provide support for junior staff on the ward (newly qualified staff will receive initial support).
You will play a key role in the education, development, mentorship andsupervision and assessment of all learners and unregistered staff.
You will undertake nursing interventions consistent with evidence basedpractice, transferring and applying knowledge and skills to meet patients'needs.
Be able to work collaboratively with all members of the MDT (Multidisciplinary Team) and to make referrals as appropriate .

Main duties of the job
When on the renal unit you will complete your haemodialysis competencies and gain valuable specialist renal skills. Venepuncture, cannualtion and blood culture competencies will also be completed.
We encourage all new starters to experience all areas of renal and rotational posts across the haemodialysis unit and renal ward (H3)can be offered.
Salford Royal is a tertiary centre for Renal patients serving the West of Greater Manchester with inpatient, outpatient and in-centre haemodialysis. We look after high care patients both on the renal unit as day cases and on the ward when they are admitted to one of the 3 high care beds. We also have teams supporting community peritoneal and home haemodialysis as well as Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) management are also on site. There are currently 4 satellite dialysis units in the West Sector to Salford Royal Hospital operating in Bolton, Rochdale, Oldham and Wigan.

Job responsibilities
This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC Pin within the next 2-3 months.
Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
