We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Non - Medical Prescriber to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Present, a category B Prison located in Preston.

HMP Preston is a remand male prison age from 18 + and a capacity of 680.

The Substance Misuse non-medical prescriber will be based in the 18 bedded unit based as a prison environment.

Hours

This role is 30 hours per week Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm over 4 days per week.

Salary

This position is part time permanent role, youll receive an annual salary between £42000 - £50000per annum / pro rota depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Substance Misuse - Non Medical Prescriber your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Undertakes Clinical Nursing Practice at an advanced level using expert knowledge and clinical skills to deliver care to patients
  • Provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues and ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence.
  • Provide treatment as required, including prescribing medication, within their sphere of competence.
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments of patients looked after.
  • Provide advice/support in relation to crisis situations, conditions, and treatment plans, based on medical and treatment history.
  • Carry out a clinical review with the patient and update care plans accordingly

Qualifications required:

  • Registered professional with current active registration (NMC)
  • RCGP 1 Certificate in the Management of Substance Misuse - Essential
  • RCGP 2 Certificate in the Management of Substance Misuse - Desirable
  • Non-medical prescribing qualification
  • Understanding and knowledge of policy developments related to the delivery of primary care services including , Clinical Governance, Quality & Outcomes Framework
