Job summary

We are looking to recruite a competent person to join our busy GP surgery in a Summarizing Administrative role.

Main duties of the job

The main duties will be Summarizing all new patient records arriving at the surgery and following all the correct protocols. You will be working alongside the Enhanced Services Lead providing support with CQRS reporting on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis. You will also be providing administrative support to cover staff absence within the team. This may involve Coding, Scanning and other adhoc duties as they arise.

About us

We are a busy GP practice based at 2 sites. we have 5 GP partners, the Practice Manager, 7 salaried GP's, a physician Associate, a Paramedic, Pharmacy team, Nursing team with an Advanced Nurse Practitioner , HCA's supported by the Administration and Reception teams.

We have over 17000 patients in our locality and the health and well being of our patients and staff is vital to the efficient running of our practice.

The IT systems we use are EMIS Web, Docman 10 and Anima .

Job responsibilities

Main Duties/Key Tasks:

  • Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patients medical history.
  • Snowmed Coding the information into the practice clinical system
  • Monitoring progress of notes summarising against practice targets
  • Enhanced Services: This includes all monthly /Quarterly /Yearly reporting being responsible for deadlines of supporting Annexs , Managing CQRS including local CQRS reporting and submitting .
  • Providing cover for Bowel and Breast Screening lab results /coding , filing & sending non responder invites)
  • EMIS & Ardens Searches: Running & creating new searches for the practice

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • You will need to be an excellent team player and flexible in your approach to the role. You will need to have an excellent attention to detail and good precision when summarizing records.
  • You will need to able show strict adherence to IGPR regulations at all times and you must maintain the confidentiality of the patient.
  • A background in health care would be excellent and medical terminology experience would assist greatly in this role.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in primary care
  • Experience of working in a GP practice

Qualifications

Essential

  • A high level grade in English GCSE/ CSE
  • A knowledge of medical terminology for example medical secretary experience or a background in a health care environment.

Desirable

  • Degree level education would be desirable
