Job summary
The remit of the post will be 100 % teaching though there is scope to discuss a clinical component where it will complement the teaching role. This is a Trust grade (FY3) appointment for trainees seeking opportunities to enhance their careers.
The successful applicant will be under the supervision of Dr Dolan Basu and Andy Simpson , working with Medical Education Faculty the post holder will be responsible for the delivery and development of undergraduate medical education teaching within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will play an important role, together with the other Clinical Teaching Fellows, in all of the Undergraduate Clinical Teaching programmes.
The post holder will be part of a team located within the North Tees Undergraduate Centre and will be required to work cross site at the Hartlepool Education Unit. The appointee will support the Block leads (University of Sunderland) and Year leads (Newcastle University) in planning, delivering and evaluating speciality teaching.
This post is an exciting opportunity for a trainee with an interest in education to work in a well-respected Trust, which has gained a reputation for delivering high quality education within a truly multidisciplinary team.
The post holder will be teaching across the clinically years of the curriculum (years 3-5), as well as being involved with 1st and 2nd year hospital visit students so experience of teaching Undergraduate student and simulation is essential. It is expected the post holder will teach in various settings - clinical placement and within the Medical Schools on various topics.
Teaching and audit are priorities for the Trust and the Education Centre is well-resourced and actively used. Clinical meetings are held between the various clinical departments. There are strong links with the professorial departments based at North Tees and an expanding involvement in undergraduate teaching.
