As a member of our Team lead by Trevor, you will be responsible for signing for deliveries and checking them against the paperwork and distributing goods while provide a prompt, courteous service to all patients, administrative staff, doctors and nurses.
This role is predominately working 37.5 hours week, over 5 days and between Monday to SaturdayMain duties of the job
As our Ward Theatre Assistant, you will be a highly motivated and reliable team player, who will support the care of patients undergoing operations under the direction of a registered practitioner and contribute to their ongoing support.
You will support theatre practitioners in the delivery of patient focused care in our multi-disciplinary team as well as, being responsible for the following
- transport patients in wheelchairs or beds to and from the operating theatre
- Transport patient files, pharmacy items, equipment, medical equipment, medical stores, general stores between wards and departments and transport specimens to laboratories, ensuring to use correct containers.
- Deliver and collect linen, rubbish, waste, assist with cleaning theatres after cases.
- Maintain clean and prepare wheelchairs, trolleys and other equipment.
- Openly communicate with patients and relatives to convey information as requested/directed by the nursing team.
- Aid control of infection in the department/treatment centre environment through adherence to Infection Control Policies.
