Job summary

Outpatient Network are currently seeking Healthcare Assistants with Gynaecological surgery experience to work in our weekend Theatres in Swansea

Main duties of the job

  • Patient Care: Assist patients with personal care tasks, including mobility, dressing, and hygiene, ensuring their comfort and dignity during their visit.

  • Vital Signs Monitoring: Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature, promptly reporting any significant changes to the nursing staff.

  • Preparation for Appointments: Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas, ensuring they are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.

  • Assisting with Procedures: Support healthcare professionals during procedures by positioning patients, providing instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment.

  • Patient Education: Offer information and reassurance to patients regarding their procedures and post-operative care, helping to alleviate anxiety.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient care and observations, facilitating effective communication within the healthcare team.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with nurses, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient flow and comprehensive care.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • 6 months prior experience of working in the NHS

    Desirable

    • Experience of having worked in Gynaecology Theatres
