As a Theatre Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in preparing theatres for surgery, ensuring both the theatre and recovery areas are spotless, collecting and escorting patients, and maintaining accurate patient records. Every day is a chance to make a difference for patients in need.

You'll work 4 days per week (Monday to Saturday, 07:30 - 18:00), with just 1 Saturday per month.

Main duties of the job

As a Theatre Support Worker your responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning of theatre and recovery areas before and after operating sessions, also adhering to the weekly cleaning schedule.
  • Stocking of cupboards and stock containers against agreed stock levels.
  • Collecting and escorting the patient, and assisting with transferring of the patient from trolley to table under supervision of trained staff.
  • Assisting with the safe positioning of patient on operating table.
  • Acting as circulating person for the scrub team and within the scope of the role.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Have previous experience working within Theatres or a Decontamination Unit.

Desirable

  • An NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or Care Certificate.

Experience

  • Display excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Have the ability to carry out instructions accurately.
  • Be a flexible and adaptable individual that can work to tight deadlines.

Desirable

  • Experience working as a Theatre Support Worker.
