Job summary
Assist the Driver Team Leader/Lead Driver in executing the efficient and timely transportation of Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) services, facilitating the transportation of GPs to deliver patient care. This role supports operational teams through administrative functions.
Main duties of the job
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the fleet's vehicles to operate any vehicle as needed.
- Assist in conducting vehicle checks during shifts to ensure the safety of GPs, oneself, and the public.
- Adhere to the driver's rota and shift schedules in compliance with working time regulations.
- Ensure the secure handling of drugs and clinical equipment during shift turnover, recording usage appropriately.
- Complete timesheets, vehicle log sheets, and logbooks, reporting any discrepancies to the Lead Driver.
- Assist in monitoring daily transport performance, reporting findings to the lead driver.
- Report and address any necessary repairs for vehicles and equipment, guaranteeing their fitness for use.
- Participate in license checks, driver assessments, and mandatory driver training.
- Foster positive communication among drivers, GPs, UTC colleagues, and external partners.
- Supporting GPs where needed with Chaperoning
- Supporting GPs if they need any help/support
- Undertake regular stock checks for drugs and any other equipment
- Operating all in car communications and patient management system equipment to support accurate record keeping
- Plan the most efficient routes for and between home visits

The post holder will be required to provide support to GPs by transporting them to and from patients for out of hour care.
Job Summary

Main Duties:
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the fleet's vehicles to operate any vehicle as needed.
- Assist in conducting vehicle checks during shifts to ensure the safety of GPs, oneself, and the public.
- Adhere to the driver's rota and shift schedules in compliance with working time regulations.
- Provide support to colleagues to minimize lone working, prioritizing personal and collective safety.
- Ensure the secure handling of drugs and clinical equipment during shift turnover, recording usage appropriately.
- Complete timesheets, vehicle log sheets, and logbooks, reporting any discrepancies to the Lead Driver.
- Assist in monitoring daily transport performance, reporting findings to the lead driver.
- Maintain the cleanliness, security, and routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment during shifts.
- Report and address any necessary repairs for vehicles and equipment, guaranteeing their fitness for use.
- Support the induction and guidance of new employees to familiarize them with business operations and the geographical area.
- Participate in license checks, driver assessments, and mandatory driver training.
- Foster positive communication among drivers, GPs, UTC colleagues, and external partners.
- Engage actively in team and departmental meetings.
- Supporting GPs where needed with Chaperoning
- Supporting GPs if they need any help/support
- Undertake regular stock checks for drugs and any other equipment
- Operating all in car communications and patient management system equipment to support accurate record keeping
- Plan the most efficient routes for and between home visits
- To assist with basic administrative duties and using Microsoft outlook to read/respond to emails
- Directing calls to appropriate extensions, dealing with telephone enquiries and recording messages when required
- We appreciate professional attire suitable for a business environment

- Inform the lead GP of any concerns regarding GPA role and any professional development needed
