North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) is seeking an Assurance Coordinator to supply Volunteer Car Drivers to undertake Non Emergency Patient Transport across the region.

As a NEPTS Assurance Coordinator - VCS, you will:

- Provide Administrative Services to support Volunteer Car Services to deliver Non Emergency Patient Transport for North West Ambulance Service.

- Responsible for recruiting programmes, processing monthly expenses claims, undertaking regular audit checks to ensure the operational status of volunteer care drivers remains active.

Main duties of the job

Financial Compliance

  • Invoice and Expenses Validation
  • Responsible for the validation of volunteer car driver reimbursement claims.
  • In the event of claim discrepancies, analyse complex journey activity and mileage data to understand differences against estimated validation claim amounts.
  • Completion, submission and authorisation of monthly finance upload to support payment of Volunteer expenses where speed and accuracy is essential in order to submit within finance deadlines.

Volunteer car Drivers

  • Recruitment
  • Management of the volunteer recruitment process.
  • Attend Health Fairs and other engagement events representing NWAS and promote volunteering opportunities to attendees, providing general advice to patients / members of the public.
  • Develop and organise publication of recruitment and advertising literature for volunteer car drivers.
  • Prepare and deliver volunteer induction training.

Assurance

  • Ensure personal records for volunteers are managed, kept up to date and logged within the Cleric system.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience, ideally in a healthcare or patient transport setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • A compassionate, patient-centred approach to care.
  • Able to demonstrate compassionate leadership
  • Ability to remaincalm under pressure and solve problems effectively.
  • A full, clean driving licence (D1 category preferred).
  • Flexibility and willingness to work a variety of shifts.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to Higher National Certificate / Diploma level, or have equivalent level of knowledge / experience

Experience

  • Evidence of effective operation and understanding of the Cleric system or similar passenger logistics application
  • Providing training to large groups of staff
  • Experience of working in the NHS or similar large organization
  • Implementing new procedures and/or systems
  • Experience of data analysis and report writing
