Job summary
To take responsibility for delivering and developing the organisation's volunteerservices, including undertaking all tasks in relation to the recruitment andmanagement of volunteers adhering to quality standards, and promoting thevolunteer services internally and externally.
Main duties of the job
The main purpose of this post is to lead on the development, promotion,
organisation, delivery, and management of a robust Volunteer Service for the Trust,ensuring that volunteers are effectively recruited, trained, and deployed in and
efficient and cost-effective way.
This will be achieved by:
o Ensuring that volunteers are effectively recruited, trained to full
compliance, and deployed effectively.
o Acting as the nominated line manager for all volunteers.
o Identify opportunities for voluntary services to add significant value in
meeting Trust priorities.
o Working with Trust staff to translate volunteering opportunities into
successful outputs and outcomes.
o Leading on partnership working to develop collaborative working with
external partners.
o Create volunteer roles, that can aid the overall experience for
stakeholders and build on continuous improvement.

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TRAINING
Essential
- Degree or equivalent experience
- Further relevant training or equivalent experience in a related field
- Experience working with (or for an organisation working with) mental health or learning disability service users / carers either in statutory or voluntary sector
- Experience using Microsoft or equivalent
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Strong leadership / management skills
- Experience of working in a health or social care or related environment
- Understanding of diversity agendas and of relevant legislation and guidance
- Experience of working with a range of people in different settings
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of a service users, carers, staff and other stakeholders
- - Experience of engaging and involving members of the public in programs of work
Desirable
- Experience of working with volunteers and understanding of the opportunities and challenges this can bring
- Knowledge and understanding of the current agenda surrounding volunteering at national and regional level or willingness to learn.
