As a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Avery Healthcare, you will play a vital role in supporting the Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of engaging and stimulating activities to enhance the physical, cognitive, and social well-being of the residents. Main duties of the job

The Wellbeing and Activities Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Wellbeing Coordinator in delivering a variety of activities, maintaining a safe environment, reporting any changes in residents' conditions, and contributing to a positive and professional image of the home. This role requires effective communication skills, understanding of the importance of interaction for well-being, a positive attitude towards older people, and previous experience working with the elderly in a residential or dementia setting.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Wellbeing and Activities Assistant, your focus will be tosupportthe Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate the resident's physical, cognitive, and social well-being.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Maintaininga safe living and working environment,contributing to the positive and professional image of thehome.
  • Reporting any changes in residents physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager, and the care staff.
  • Supporting with ordering and preparing supplies for upcoming activities as directed.
  • Supporting establishing links with the local community (e.g., schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to encourage access to the wider community and promote intergenerational activity.

Qualifications

Essential

  • The ideal candidate should have effective communication skills, both verbal and written, demonstrate an understanding of the role interaction plays in the general well-being of people, and have a positive attitude toward older people with a commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events. Previous experience working with older people in a residential nursing or dementia setting is preferred.
