Salary: £12.60 - £13.05 per hour (As of 1st April 2025) plus £200 joining bonus

Vacancy Hours: 2.5 cleaning and 7.5 caretaking

Location: Green Hammerton CE Primary School

Are you looking for a role with great benefits? Do you want a new challenge? If so, we have the perfect role for you. North Yorkshire Council has a Caretaker/Cleaner vacancy at Green Hammerton School, in a lovely village on the outskirts of York.

Your main duties would include:

  • Opening the site - including an outside security check to designated entrances for broken glass and litter etc. Ensuring the outside areas are safe and clean.
  • Completing fire alarm and emergency light checks.
  • Assisting with minor repairs.
  • Changing light bulbs and fluorescent tubes as required.
  • Cleaning staff areas of the school, including offices and staff room.

This would be based on 7.5 hours a week caretaking and 2.5 cleaning, Monday to Friday, equalling to 2 hours a day. The hours are to be completed before 8:30am and start and finish times can be flexible, depending on the needs of the school.
