Hours: 10 hours per week, 2-week rota, W1 5hrs Thursday, Sunday/ W2 5hrs Tuesday, Saturday.

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Catering Assistant to join our team and help deliver outstanding customer service. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality food and beverage services, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met, and supporting the overall success of the catering operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages
  • Ensure food is maintained at appropriate temperatures, and all food safety and hygiene procedures are followed.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the venue, including setting up rooms, cleaning equipment, and public areas.
  • Clear tables of glassware, crockery, and cutlery, ensuring tables are ready for next use.
  • Carry out routine cleaning, maintenance, and waste disposal.
  • Assist in the effective setup of rooms and furniture for customer requirements.
  • Handle cash and sales transactions following company procedures.
  • Comply with Health & Safety, hygiene, and COSHH regulations.
  • Be alert to safety hazards and well-being concerns, act as Fire Marshall in an emergency.
  • Maximise sales by promoting food, beverages, and services effectively.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing any complaints or concerns promptly.
  • Support team colleagues and provide cover as required.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Understanding of Health and Safety and food safety.
  • Excellent customer service skills and effective communication.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work under pressure.
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.

Desirable:

  • First aid certificate, IT qualification.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Experience in a catering environment, including food and beverage preparation.
  • Previous experience in sales and cash handling procedures.
