STEM Learning is seeking a Catering Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality food and beverage services for events and courses held at the National STEM Learning Centre.
This new role offers valuable hands-on experience in various catering tasks, from collaborating with the Events and Hospitality Lead on planning, to setting up food operations and delivering excellent customer service, ensuring seamless and efficient operations throughout.
As part of the Administration Team, you will also assist with daily operations, ensuring a clean and organised environment. This role is key in offering exceptional service to both internal and external customers, helping to create a positive and enjoyable experience.
Additionally, there is the opportunity to assist the Administration Team with administrative tasks during quieter non-catering hours.
Key tasks:
- To lead with catering operations, including out of hours provision for breakfast (07:00 start)
- Oversee the daily cleaning and upkeep of catering areas
- Conduct regular stock checks to ensure adequate provisions are available each week
- Assist the Administration Team with administrative tasks during quieter non-catering hours.

Our Ideal Candidate
- GCSE Mathematics and English Grade A - C, or equivalent level of education/qualification or experience
- Ability to work independently using your own initiative
- Ability to maintain attention to detail while working to deadlines and managing a varied workload
- A mature, positive and enthusiastic manner
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn new administrative IT systems
- Excellent organisational skills
- Previous catering experience
- Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene course.
