Salary: Starting at£25,584 per year (Grade 4)

Contract: Permanent, Full-time, Monday to Friday

Hours: 8:45am - 4:45pm, with an earlier finish on a Friday

Location: YPO, 41 Industrial Park, Wakefield WF2 0XE

YPO are looking for a friendly and pro-active Cook to join our passionate catering team in providing a catering service for up to 200 of our colleagues on a daily basis.

You'll bring your excellent organisational skills to the role, planning and preparing varied menus while keeping stock levels in check and minimising waste. You will be responsible for preparing and catering for both the lunch and afternoon services, utilising quiet periods to prepare homemade bakes and treats for the next day, ensuring our team is always one step ahead.

We are looking for a positive team-player - someone always ready to lend a hand with a can-do and supportive attitude. Your customer service skills will shine as you provide a kind and welcoming service to our YPO colleagues and guests here at Junction 41 Industrial Estate.

You'll work with established recipe cards, whilst having the chance to experiment with new menus and recipes. Your keen attention to detail will ensure all food is labelled correctly, adhering to the latest Food Standards Agency (FSA) guidelines and allergen legislation.

This role offers sociable working hours of 8:45am until 4:45pm Monday to Thursday, 8:45am until 4:15pm on Fridays with potential overtime available during our peak summer months.

It is essential that the successful candidate have:

  • Level 2 or above Health and Hygiene Certificate.
  • Certificate in Food Preparation and Cooking (or equivalent experience).
  • Knowledge of correct food labelling and allergen awareness, in line with new Food Standard Agency (FSA) guidelines.
  • Experience in cash handling and using point-of-sale equipment.
