Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time Vacancy Hours: 37 per week Location: White Rose House, Northallerton Would you like to join a highly motivated team of officers involved in supporting people who are no longer able to manage their own property and financial affairs and have no one else to support them? If you are self-motivated, a good team player, have excellent numeracy, communication and organizational skills, preferably obtained in a financial background that required accuracy and are used to working to tight deadlines, this could be the job for you.
This role is mainly office based but does require the post holder to visit Job Centre's, banks and sometimes clients themselves. Therefore, must be able to travel for the purpose of the role. The successful person should have a proven record of customer service, with the ability to create and establish effective communication channels across multiple agencies, on behalf of vulnerable people, ensuring these are maintained and developed. You will need to be able to work independently to demanding deadlines.
This post has a broad scope and involves close working with the Office of Public Guardianship, legal practitioners and social care assessors, as well as liaising regularly with care providers, banking organisations, estate agents, the Department for Work and Pensions, utility providers and other organisations linked to the financial affairs of individual clients. You must also have excellent IT skills and knowledge or understanding of Court of Protection Procedures, Social Care and Welfare Benefits is desirable. You will be required to apply for welfare benefits on the client's behalf, manage their income, payments and assets and keep up to date, accurate details of all of their financial transactions. A knowledge of benefits and the services provided within Social Care would be an advantage.
