About the role

North Yorkshire Council's Adult Learning and Skills service delivers life changing programmes to individuals aged 19+ across the whole region. Lifelong learning can improve wellbeing, improve job prospects and help develop strong communities. We make a real difference to many people, and we can do more. You will be part of a county-wide team supporting the communities of North Yorkshire to access a range of opportunities across the county, and you must be able to travel to support this approach. We are looking for invigilators to join our established teams in the Scarborough area. Our team of invigilators oversee the running of Adult Learning exams in venues across the county. The successful applicants should demonstrate availability for exams held throughout the year for daytime and evening slots. Invigilators will be required to complete mandatory training for the role and attend at least two meetings a year to ensure compliance with examination regulations.

About you

We are seeking highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic Invigilators to work in venues across the Scarborough area. The successful candidate will be reliable and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  You will have a strong attention to detail and will be able to prove that you can remain calm under pressure, as this is vital to the role. The successful candidate will also be required to show that they are able to apply guidelines and regulations accurately and in a consistent manner. It is also essential that you have good working ICT skills, literacy and numeracy skills to provide support with the online examination process. You will be expected to check and respond to emails weekly.
