The Head of Department is responsible for all aspects of the work of the curriculum area or areas which form their designated areas of responsibility. The core focus of the Head of Department's role is raising pupil achievement. Central to this is leading and guiding staff working within the designated curriculum area(s), and, in so doing, fostering an environment within which teaching and learning is the key priority with a desire for it to be of the highest possible quality and each member of the team is able to develop to the full the pupils in our care.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Head of English to work full time to lead a successful team whose focus is to inspire young people to be the best they can be. You will have a proven track record of success in improving standards and raising student outcomes. We would like to hear from talented middle leaders looking to extend their experience, and outstanding, ambitious teachers seeking their first middle leadership post. You should have the ability to teach English to Key Stages 3 and 4. The ability and expertise to teach at Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential.
