Hours: full time
Contract: Permanent
Location: Based at either one of our council offices across the county in one of the office locations with the expectation to travel across the County when required. Hybrid working is available.

This is a really exciting time to join the Housing Service at North Yorkshire Council. Following Local Government Reorganisation we have a new, ambitious Housing Strategy which sets out our vision for the future of housing across North Yorkshire and lots of work to do to improve the service we deliver to our residents. The Service Improvement Team is an exciting new addition to the Housing Service. The team is responsible for improving service delivery for our residents across all areas of the Housing Service, from our communications to our policies, processes and the systems we use. The team will focus on ensuring compliance with the Consumer Standards set by the Regulator of Social Housing. Service Improvement sits within the Housing Delivery and Partnerships Service.
About the role
Within this role you will support the Service Improvement Manager to ensure that a high level of service is delivered across all housing service areas, taking a lead on improvement projects and contributing to the delivery of the Housing Improvement Plan.
You will work closely with the Strategy and Performance Team in developing the Housing Revenue Account Policy Framework, ensuring that strategies, policies and procedures across our Landlord Services and Housing Standards functions are harmonised, fully compliant with standards, agreed through appropriate governance protocols and regularly reviewed.
You will also work closely with the Tenant Involvement Team, ensuring that service delivery and improvement is carried out in consultation with our tenants and their voice is heard in service development.
You will also have oversight of our service data, working with the Housing Asset Manager to ensure that relevant data and evidence bases are maintained to support and shape our housing delivery and service improvement priorities.
What you will bring
You will be passionate about delivering high quality services to our residents and have the drive to ensure continuous improvement and evidence based policy development.
You will have in depth knowledge of current and emerging policy and legislation regarding Housing and Social Housing in particular, with experience in developing strategy and policy.
Excellent communication skills are a must, both written and oral with the ability to persuade, influence and negotiate as well as problem solve and implement solutions.
