The Housing Standards team consists of five closely linked areas of housing expertise: construction, repairs, improvements, contract management, and safety. Each team consists of suitably qualified, skilled, and experienced trade operatives, surveyors, contract supervisors, and Team Leaders, all managed by Housing Standards Managers for each work area.
The role
As an Operational Support Officer, you will be allocated work within the improvement team and will be monitored by a Team Leader.
The core focus of the post is to be the principal point of contact for enquiries into the team, dealing with all enquiries from tenants, contractors and other team members within Housing Standards, diagnosing repair enquiries over the phone and arranging programmes of works to raise targeted works orders and dispatch appropriate internal trade operative or external contractors. Supplemented with the provision of technical admin support to operational staff and Retrofit Surveyors within the Improvement Team.
The job will require the successful applicant to work within a small team under the Housing Standards Team Leader, assisting from a support role in the delivery of our housing retrofit programmes to help the Council achieve its goals of bringing its housing stock up to energy performance of C by 2030.ore focus of this job is the development and delivery of new construction via a large
What you will bring.
·You will know Microsoft software, data entry and housing regulations.
·Excellent communication and IT skills are essential for this role, both written and oral, with the ability to problem solve and find pragmatic solutions., Tenant liaison is a key essential for this role, along with having an empathetic attitude and good customer service skills.
·You will have experience in customer service with the ability to work under pressure to ensure deadlines and targets are met.
·Excellent communication skills are a must, both written and oral. There will be a focus on working well within a team while being able to use initiative and make decisions within standard operating procedures.
