Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Harrogate
Weekend Working: Occasional Saturdays
The role:
Working in small crews you will be collecting residual, garden and food waste, as well as recyclable materials from domestic and commercial properties across the Harrogate locality. You will have to move bags, wheeled bins and boxes, using a lifting mechanism to tip the waste into the lorry. Health and safety is also critical to ensure your team and residents are safe, including supporting your driver to help navigate the streets of North Yorkshire safely. This role has huge importance, as you will be on the front line of a key service in the Harrogate locality. As required, you may be asked to start early and weekend working may also be required
You will be:
Collecting and emptying of waste receptacles Removing spillages, checking of service lists, and reporting of instances outside of acceptable presentation. To support the driver in undertaking risk assessments. Assisting the driver in ensuring manoeuvres are completed safely, mitigating the risk to pedestrians and other road users. Responsible for health and safety of self and colleagues, adhering to all safe working practices.
