We are collaborative in the way we work, offering a broad range of services in Architecture, Sustainability, Building Surveying, Project Management, Civil & Structural, Transport Planning, Bridges, Highways & Drainage Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, CD, Property Advisory & Estate Management.

As a Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer
You will work closely with the Technical Director to support and lead the wider team in providing a variety of services including those relating to building pathology, design, project management, building surveys and contract administration as well as producing early design advice through to detailed mechanical services design.
You will be able to manage a varied project workload, appreciate complex situations and communicate clearly when working closely with other disciplines to deliver engineering solutions to meet client's budgets and programmes.
This position will involve visiting sites to attend meetings, carrying out inspections and surveys across current and planned projects in North Yorkshire, North East England, Cumbria and West Yorkshire so you must be able to make your way independently to these sites.
You will be able to advise on Health and Safety issues, fire safety and sustainability throughout the design and construction period of projects, considering the Construction Design and Management Regulations.As someone who is proactive, you will look for new challenges and be committed to maintaining an annual programme of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate the following essential skills and qualifications:
·Hold a Degree or HNC in Building Services/Mechanical Engineering and ideally working towards MCIBSE.
·Have substantial industry experience working as principal engineer.
·Produce Mechanical Building Services design calculations using a wide range of techniques including industry standard software such as Hevacomp and IES.
·Create feasibility reports, decarbonisation reports, condition surveys, design specifications and drawings suitable for all RIBA work stages.
·Supervise the installation of building services systems, undertaking commissioning management and specifying maintenance and operating procedures.
·Carry out project design and complete H&S risk assessments to meet current CDM regulation requirements.
·Be IT proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk AutoCAD and NBS software.
·Demonstrate knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
·Hold a full UK driving license with the ability to travel.
