We have an opportunity for a Principal Structural Engineer to join our multi discipline workforce at Align Property Services.
You will lead on project delivery and work on a variety of schemes collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure they are both cost and time efficient. You will use your significant engineering experience in your day-to-day workload as well as continuing and developing projects, and you will oversee designs from feasibility to completion, whilst monitoring resources and finances.
You will demonstrate initiative and leadership skills to positively inspire a successful team, who have a record of consistently meeting and exceeding their targets and are passionate in their determination to improve their service continually.

To be successful in this position, you will:
- Hold a Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent with a substantial amount of understanding and broad post-qualification experience within an engineering design consultancy.
- Be a Chartered Engineer as a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers or the Institution of Civil Engineers
- Have experience in managing multi-project delivery and providing team support.
- Be knowledgeable and proficient in relevant UK standards, Eurocodes, relevant design guidance documentation and Building Regulations
- Be skilled in coordinating detailed designs and specifications using first principles hand calculations and software such as AutoCAD, Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer or similar packages.
- Have the ability build strong working relationships and effectively communicate the wider team, clients and external consultants.
- Proficient in carrying out Structural condition surveys and reports.
- Demonstrate competency in the conceptual and detailed design of structural engineering projects, including new build projects, renovations of existing structures and extensive survey schemes with all forms of structural materials
- An understanding and appreciation for project programmes and budget constraints
- Be IT proficient, including the use of Microsoft packages
- Hold a full UK Drivers license
