Location: Work from home or from one of our office locations in Selby, Richmond, Scarborough, Malton, Northallerton, Skipton, or Harrogate with an expectation of attending the NYBCP Head Office at Easingwold when required.

As the UK's first Local Authority Building Control Partnership, we are proud to offer a flexible and modern building control service on behalf of North Yorkshire Council. We handle a wide range of applications under the Building Act 1984, including building regulations, dangerous structures, and demolition notifications. The Role
As a Senior Building Control Surveyor, you'll play a key role in ensuring buildings in North Yorkshire meet the highest regulatory standards in safety, sustainability, accessibility, and design. You'll work alongside a professional, supportive team, and your responsibilities will include:
- Processing Building Regulation applications under the Building Act 1984 and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Managing dangerous structures and demolition notifications across the Partnership area.
- Assisting with enforcement actions to ensure the council meets its obligations under the Building Act and associated legislation.
- Delivering service excellence and maintaining a strong performance culture in a competitive market.
You'll also contribute to the ongoing development of the team and help shape the future of building control services throughout North Yorkshire. Whether you're already registered or working towards Class 2 registration with the Building Safety Regulator, we welcome your application and encourage you to get in touch for an informal chat about the role.
