Senior Commercial Officer
NY Highways is seeking a dynamic Senior Commercial Officer to progress within our dedicated team. In this role, you will be pivotal in supporting projects through commercial activities, during both pre- and post-tender phases.

The Role
This role involves providing accurate and timely commercial reports and advice to the Head of Commercial, and Senior Management team. As Senior Commercial Officer you will provide commercial support and advice to the commercial teams, work with the Operations team to monitor contracts and reporting against commercial targets.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone driven by results and committed to ongoing career development, bringing your experience in delivering contracts and managing budgets to help us achieve our ambitious goals.
Key responsibilities include managing projects in line with NY Highways governance and policies, ensuring value for money through process improvement and resource allocation, and developing and maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers. You will inspire and motivate team members through effective leadership, oversee contract administration, dispute resolution, and compliance with legal requirements.

Key Criteria
- Qualified to HND standard or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Financial Management, or a related discipline.
- Working towards or willing to work towards professional membership of an appropriate organisation (e.g., RICS, CIOB, ICES).
- Excellent knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts, notably NEC.
- Proven ability to find positive solutions to complex problems.
- Strong commitment to customer service principles and practices.
- Excellent at time management and organisation.
- Strong numeric and computer literacy skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to persuade and influence others.
