Location: Work from one of our office locations, to cover the Selby area (Post holders must have the ability to travel across the housing stock localities when required)
Senior Contract Supervisor (Compliance & Contracts)
The role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Contract Supervisor to join our team and ensure our housing services are fully compliant with UK regulations and housing laws. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and enforcement of housing policies, ensuring adherence to key legislation such as the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and other relevant local and national regulations. You will work closely with regulatory bodies, property management teams, and staff to ensure our services are delivered to legal standards, providing a fair and safe environment for all tenants.

As a Contract Supervisor Senior level, you will:
·Ownership and Accountability: Take full responsibility for your designated area of work, ensuring adherence to behavioural, quality, and safety standards across all projects.
·Stakeholder Liaison: Regularly liaise with tenants, a wide range of providers, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless communication and delivery of services.
·Delivering Best Value: Always seek to deliver the best value by ensuring work is completed safely, in line with the required specifications, and compliant with all relevant service standards, codes of practice, and legislation.
·Contract Management: Oversee all aspects of day-to-day contract management for high-value, complex contracts, ensuring the delivery of services meets the required standards and deadlines.
·Compliance & Legal Support: Apply for warrants if access is denied for compliance or safety works and represent the organisation in court proceedings when necessary.
·Forward Planning: Work closely with procurement teams to strategically plan upcoming contracts and ensure efficient use of resources.
·Service Quality & Improvement: Work with internal service providers to monitor the quality of service and drive ongoing improvements, ensuring best practices are consistently upheld across all projects.
- Audit-Ready: Experience in collecting, storing, and maintaining data in a way that is audit-proof, ensuring full compliance with HSE and other industry standards.
What You Will Bring
- In-depth Knowledge: A strong understanding of building regulations, building maintenance, or construction practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively in contract management.
- Contract Management Experience:Proven experience in managing contracts, including negotiating terms and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Analytical Skills:Strong numeracy skills and the ability to interpret and analyse data to make informed decisions.
- Confidentiality:Ability to always respect and maintain confidentiality, ensuring sensitive information is handled appropriately.
- Compliance Expertise:Good working knowledge of compliance, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Negotiation Skills:Proven ability to manage difficult or complex contracts, using strong negotiation skills to resolve issues effectively.
- Report Writing:Strong ability to write clear, concise, and accurate reports, ensuring all documentation meets legal and regulatory standards.
