Service Development Project Officer - Housing, Technology and Sustainability Team

Sitting within Health & Adult Services, the Housing, Technology and Sustainability Team has an excellent proven record of developing accommodation with care for people with a housing, care and support needs across the County. We pride ourselves on being a Nationally recognised authority in extra care housing development, having built strong relationships to successfully deliver 28 operational schemes, with a range specialist housing providers. Housing is a major determinant of health and wellbeing. The ability of people using social care services to access suitable and safe housing that promotes reablement and personal development is a key element of supporting people to live independently.

The post holder will contribute to the process of redesigning and transforming services, supporting the Head of Service, Strategic Service Development Managers and Senior Service Development Officers with commissioning and service development activity relating to identified need at a locality and Countywide level. The post holder will support with the development of strategic partnerships with the public and private housing sectors to deliver a range of accommodation solutions across the County.

Your role will be:

  • Supporting the Head of Service, Strategic Service Development Managers and Senior Service Development Officer's with commissioning of extra care housing and other models of accommodation with care in a complex and challenging environment for the population of North Yorkshire, ensuring best use of resources, supporting the delivery of strategic outcomes and responsiveness to service user needs.
  • Developing strong working relationships with Public Health, Clinical Commissioning Groups/Integrated Care Systems, providers, community and voluntary sector, commissioning support organisations and partners.
  • Work closely with colleagues in the other Service Development teams to ensure consistent and responsive approaches are delivered across the localities and the customer groups.
  • Supporting Countywide accommodation based projects
  • Involvement in developing procurement documentation, procurement and commissioning of a range of accommodation models, and supporting operational extra care schemes.
  • Supporting colleagues to identify gaps in specialist accommodation service provision, and areas for further accommodation service development and transformation.
  • Developing the partnerships within the extra care and supported living schemes and the related service delivery.
  • Support with effective preparation, management and maintenance of a project planning including preparation of procurement documentation.
  • Support the Strategic Service Development Managers to work with providers and service users, locally or at a county wide level to develop services together.
  • Support with communication/consultation and marketing with internal and external stakeholders; helping to facilitate necessary stakeholder engagement events including community and residents' consultation.
  • Supporting Technology Enabled Care contract.
