About Us
The Payments and System Data Team is responsible for managing the input, updating and closing care provisions, payees, and payments data across the Adults and Children's Social Care and Corporate Finance systems.
The Payments Officer role will sit in the Payments Team, but it is expected that officers are able to work across any of the three functions as the manager requires to support fluctuating demands or changes in priority.
The Payments Team processes payment runs daily, totalling in excess of £33 million each month and we strongly believe that it is a great team to work for. We support each other and have clear values and behaviours that we work to and pride ourselves on our delivery, standards and customer service.
About the Role
In this post you will be responsible for processing social care payments and payments made on behalf of the council's partners in an accurate and timely manner. You will also be responsible for liaising with the providers, dealing with and answering their queries.

About you
To be successful in the role, you need to have previous experience of working in a finance environment. You should have strong ICT skills with the ability to use both business systems and Microsoft applications effectively.
You should have the ability to work independently and be able to prioritise competing demands to meet the deadlines. Excellent communication, attention to detail, numeracy skills including ability to gather and compile statistical data in various formats, analyse and presenting the data in a clear way is essential for this role.
