The County Council is responsible for determining planning applications for its own road infrastructure schemes. Through planning for new and improved roads we support growth whilst protecting the environment.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Planning Officer to work primarily on planning applications for the council's own infrastructure schemes. There may also be the opportunity to deal with applications for mineral extraction and waste management. This role is in the Development Management team, and the successful candidate will be responsible for processing planning applications and providing related pre-application engagement including preparation of Screening and Scoping Opinions for Environmental Impact Assessment.
The office location is County Hall in Oxford, however attendance in the office is not necessary on a day-to-day basis as we support agile working.
About you
You will have an excellent knowledge of relevant planning legislation and policy in order to provide guidance, advice and support, as a professional specialist, to colleagues, councillors, applicants and agents and the public. We are looking for someone with at least three years' experience working in Development Management for this senior role.
