Salary range: £35,745 - £38,223 per annum (+ increased pay for unsociable hours and sleeping in pay)

Work location: Enstone, Nr Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire and East Hagbourne, Nr Didcot, Oxfordshire

(Our locations are in remote areas with limited access via public transport, however car parking is available. This is an office-based role due to the nature of the work.)

Hours per week: 74 hours across a two week rota, alternate weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins and unsociable hours. (Shifts patterns include 7am - 3pm, 2pm - 10pm, 9am-5pm and sleep-ins)

Contract type: Permanent

Vetting requirements: This role is subject to a criminal records check

This post is subject to the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009 and successful candidates will be required to complete a Disqualification Form.

Our children's homes sit within The Residential and Edge of Care Service which works with the most vulnerable children and families, including those on the edge of care, within the Children We Care For system and those preparing for independence. The strategic aim of this service is to deliver integrated and individualised interventions to promote best outcomes for children and their families. About the role

You will be working alongside a passionate and high performing team at one of our 2 new children's home. Our children's homes are imbedded in quiet local communities to provide a safe and nurturing home environment with intensive support packages for up to 4 young people aged 12 - 17. As part of this you will:

  • Warmly welcome and engage with children to provide a supportive and nourishing environment for them to feel safe.
  • Support with the day-to-day operation of the home, undertaking activities that supports the children we work with.
  • Collaborate with professionals who are engaged with the family to provide the best outcome for children and families/carers.
  • Commit to shift work which includes sleeping over, working alternative weekends and bank holidays.

About you

You are...

  • Kind and caring , with an understanding of and respect for individuals' qualities, abilities, and diverse backgrounds.
  • Advocating for equality and integrity in all you do, and with your strong communication skills you work effectively with challenging young people, children, their families, and other professionals to achieve the best outcome.
  • Always learning , with a Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Willing to take responsibility and deliver on the vision of Oxfordshire County Council with enthusiasm and passion.
  • Driven to do things differently to ensure that children and young people are supported to live well with the right support at the right time and in the right place.
