About us
Oxfordshire County Council is seeking a passionate Travel Plan Monitoring Officer to join our Behaviour Change and Travel Plans team within the Place, Transport and Infrastructure service area. This role is pivotal in promoting sustainable and active travel among students and parents, fostering a culture of healthy and environmentally friendly travel habits for school journeys across Oxfordshire. This contributes to our broader goals of climate action, healthy place-shaping, and improving air quality.
About the role
As a Travel Plan Monitoring Officer you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the monitoring of developer travel plans. This includes managing the travel planning monitoring system and coordinating travel interventions to encourage a shift away from car use. You will provide technical support on projects, including transport plans, consultations, and planning applications, and engage with colleagues across the Council to integrate sustainable travel priorities into policy and practice.
About you
We offer a competitive salary range of £35,745 - £38,223 and our fantastic Local Government Benefits, flexible working hours with a 37-hour workweek, and a supportive work environment with a strong emphasis on learning and development.
The ideal candidate will be degree-educated or have significant experience in transport planning, behaviour change engagement, or a related field. You should have an understanding of current transport issues and experience in active travel or behavioural change projects. Excellent communication skills and IT proficiency are also required.
