We are seeking a motivated retail shop manager for our store in Swindon town centre. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role, where your retail skills will help generate vital funds to support our work, both at the hospice and in the community.
Hours: 30 hours per week (four days a week, which will include working weekends and some bank holidays)
What will I be doing?
- Driving sales to maximise store income and profits by delivering exceptional retail standards
- Leading guiding and inspiring a team of paid staff and volunteers to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service
- Oversee the daily running of the shop including stock management, merchandising and ensuring compliance with trading standards and health and safety regulations
- Build relationships with donors, customers and the local community to maximise donations and grow the shops profile
- Ensuring high standards of display, presentation, and cleanliness are maintained throughout the shop
- Meeting gift aid conversion rates from people donating goods.
About you:

- Retail management experience
- Experience of achieving targets and driving sales
- Experience of managing and inspiring staff and volunteers
- Customer focused with a creative flair for visual merchandising
- Thrive in a team environment and enjoy working with others to achieve shared goals
- Excellent organisational skills and a pro-active approach
- Motivated to support the work of Prospect Hospice and engage the local community
- Knowledge of MS office, Teams and basic IT
- Previous experience in charity retail is desirable.
Candidates should hold a driving license and have access to a car, and be prepared to travel throughout our catchment area (Swindon, Marlborough, Pewsey, Royal Wootton Bassett, Highworth and Cricklade) to cover other shops if needed.
