Job Description Location: Schools and other SC premises Directorate Team: Resources, Shire Services Post Title: Grade: Cleaner-in-Charge/Site Supervisor Grade 3 Salary Range: £9.62 per hour (as at 01 April 2020) Hours: Part Time Reports to and supports: Area Supervisor (Cleaning) Direct roles responsible for: Financial responsibility: A number of cleaning staff working on the cleaning contract at the site. Responsible for ensuring that the cleaning contract is carried out according to the requirements of the contract. Customer & Service user base: Provision of cleaning services to schools and other customers across Shropshire, Worcester and Hereford. Main Purpose of Post The post-holder will hold responsibility for the day to day management of the cleaning contract within the site, ensuring that the service is provided according to requirements. Key Responsibilities and Tasks To organise and supervise staff. To prepare and maintain the necessary staff records. To maintain the correct levels of materials and equipment. To ensure the safe use of all machinery, equipment and chemicals. To carry out general cleaning duties. To organise the allocation of duties to ensure that all designated areas are cleaned. To inspect and monitor standards of cleaning. To keep external areas of the premises clean and tidy. Cleaner-in-Charge - Jan 2015 To carry out various janitorial and portering duties. To be responsible for the day to day liaison with the client contact. To report any incidents/problems to your Area Supervisor/Manager. To ensure that all health and safety policies are adhered to by staff. You may be required to co-ordinate periodic cleaning. To monitor sickness levels through Return-to-Work interviews. The post-holder may be required to be a key-holder. A key facet of the role will be to ensure that your individual, team and service targets are met, whilst ensuring that your team delivers successfully in supporting the wider corporate and service objectives. You will also be expected to ensure the health and safety, as well as the wellbeing of employees, whilst promoting equality and diversity.
