Some key information

  • This is a 37 hours per week role, Monday to Friday, based at our Wellington Depot (although working elsewhere within the county may be required)
  • 25 days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Will work as part of the Counties Arboriculture Team
  • Full-Time Permanent contract

What will I be doing?

We're working to improve the lives of the people in Somerset - and you'll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Undertaking of all arboriculture operations including climbing, felling, planting and operating a MEWP.
  • Use of hand tools, powered hand tools and climbing equipment
  • Driving a company vehicle up to 3.5t and trailer.
  • Compete paperwork / online forms as required

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you:

  • Hold a full driving licence
  • Have experience of arboriculture operations
  • Experience of using appropriate equipment e.g. MEWP, climbing harnesses and chainsaws
  • Must have qualifications: CS30 Chainsaw, cross cut maintenance, CS31 Felling, CS38 climbing and aerial rescue, CS39 working with chainsaw in a tree.
  • Desirable qualifications: MEWP, chipper, stump grinder, First Aid and Chapter 8 signing, lighting and guarding
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Used to working outdoors.

The salary for this role is £27,711 - ££31,067 per annum
