  • Permanent full time position - 37 hours per week.
  • £41,062 - £44,711 per annum inclusive of a £9,476 per annum renumeration package payable for 3 years.
  • 30 days annual leave excl. Bank Holidays.
  • Hybrid role.
  • The successful candidate will be based at County Hall, Taunton and be required to visit our Housing Stock in the Taunton and Wellington areas on a regular basis.

What will I be doing?

We're working to improve the lives of people in Somerset - and you'll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

Operational responsibility for all landlord property related safety compliance within the Housing Directorate and take pro-active measures to address any areas of non-compliance.

Undertake statutory compliance checks for the Council's social housing stock. Responsible for Asbestos contracts, surveys, removal works, water hygiene contracts and remedial actions. Radon testing and remediation contract.

Responsible for all aspects of fire safety to the Council's social housing stock, including fire risk assessments, remedial actions and compliance checks.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be.

Good general standard of education (minimum to A' level standard or equivalent) and relevant professional Asbestos management P405, Water Hygiene Legionella P901, NEBOSH general certificate qualification or experience.

Detailed and up-to-date knowledge of all landlord property related statutory safety responsibilities, Government Policy, Regulatory Requirements, approved Codes of Practice and Guidance.

Sound working knowledge of current Building Regulations.

Experience of working in and supporting partnerships with a wide range of internal and external bodies including government and non-government organisations, the private and voluntary sectors.

Significant experience in managing property related safety compliance within a social housing environment.
