What the job involves
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will manage a caseload of complex cases in Children's Services, particularly involving family assessment, support, fostering, and care for looked-after children. You will develop care packages and collaborate with families, carers, and agencies. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough need assessments, managing risks, participating in emergency interventions, supervising social workers, and promoting professional partnerships. You will also participate in court proceedings and contribute to service delivery and policy development.
Skills
- Recognized qualification in Social Work (Dip SW / CQSW / CSS)
- Registered with HCPC
- Minimum three years post-qualified experience
- In-depth knowledge of care assessment and relevant legislation
- Advanced report writing and communication skills
- IT proficiency with standard electronic systems
- Coaching and mentoring capabilities
- Experience in practice teaching and student supervision
- Commitment to continual professional development
- Able to manage complex cases autonomously
