What the Job Involves

As a Safeguarding Business Support Assistant, you will assist Support Services Officers by handling enquiries, processing transactions, and maintaining information systems. Key duties include answering phone calls and emails, producing documents and reports, dealing with customer transactions, managing stock control, and recording complaints. You will support the team by proactively identifying service improvements, sharing best practices, and providing mutual support and training to colleagues. You will also ensure compliance with the Council's equal opportunities policies.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills, both face-to-face and in writing
  • Able to quickly establish rapport with customers
  • Numerate, capable of handling transaction calculations
  • Team player with the ability to provide support to colleagues
  • Proficient in using computer systems, including IT and telephony
  • Experience in a multicultural public or private sector environment
  • Experience working under minimal supervision and pressure
  • Broad knowledge of council services and issues
