Class 3 Qualified Senior Building Control Surveyor (Band 3) - MID

Who You Are

You are an experienced professional with a background in building control, currently or recently serving as a Senior Building Control Surveyor. You are self-motivated and capable of working independently, yet also a strong team player. You possess a deep understanding of the Building Regulations and underlying legislation and demonstrate a keen interest in advancing your knowledge, especially concerning BSA/BSR qualifications. You are prepared to consistently exceed expectations in your role.

What the Job Involves

The position requires reviewing plans for diverse construction projects and conducting on-site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations. You will provide building control advice through various channels, inspect dangerous structures during regular hours, and participate in the out-of-hours dangerous structures rota. Maintaining accurate records of inspections and correspondence is crucial, as is supporting the training of Trainee and Assistant Surveyors. You will also assist the Principal Surveyor and Head of Building Control with additional team duties.

Skills

• Degree in construction or equivalent qualification
• Band C Building Control Surveyor Registration (BSR) qualification preferred
• Full corporate membership with RICS, CABE, or CIOB
• Minimum of seven years' experience in Building Control
• Self-motivated and independent working ability
• Eagerness to learn and develop skills
• Strong team player with a sense of responsibility
