Who You Are
You are a skilled plasterer with experience in carrying out plastering repairs, maintenance, and renovations, both for internal and external surfaces. You have proficiency in laying and repairing kitchen and bathroom flooring and removing and applying ceramic tiles. You are capable of resolving minor or routine technical difficulties on-site using your own initiative. Excellent organizational skills are essential for maintaining vehicle stock levels and submitting required documents timely. You foster a customer-focused approach and have the ability to liaise effectively with customers and your management. Additionally, you have an understanding of and commitment to health and safety regulations, environmental policies, and equal opportunity policies.
What the Job Involves
The position entails undertaking a range of plastering repairs, maintenance, and renovations across housing stocks, schools, and public buildings managed by Derby Homes. You will be responsible for maintaining optimum vehicle stock levels and will work within an appointment system to ensure service efficiency. Key duties include submitting worksheets and documents within required timescales and contributing to the accurate recording of time, standard operating rates (SOR), and materials for each work order. The role involves participating in toolbox talks, staff briefings, mentoring new employees and apprentices, and adhering to all health and safety practices. Additionally, you will comply with all relevant policies and use the provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly. The job also includes embracing new technologies and participating in Derby Homes' initiatives such as the Job Chat Scheme.
