Who You Are
You are a compassionate and empathetic individual committed to supporting people with complex mental health problems. You have a good basic education and possess an understanding of choice, empowerment, diversity, and advocacy. You are comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, and have experience (or a keen interest) in working within the mental health field and with various agencies. You are also committed to safeguarding vulnerable adults and promoting their welfare.
What the Job Involves
The role involves enabling service users with complex mental health issues to maintain tenancies, mental health, and social networks to live as ordinary a life as possible. You will provide social and housing-related support, focusing on individual needs, promoting recovery, and facilitating access to community resources. Daily tasks include practical support and advocacy, managing mental health symptoms, and maintaining accurate records, all while working within the framework of individualized care plans.
