1:1 Learning Support Assistant Salary:WSCC Grade 3.4 (38 weeks a year)Required Ideally Monday 2nd June 2025 (or sooner if possible)Start date could be discussed in the interview process and can be flexed slightly.Contract: 20.33 hours spread over 5 days - Fixed Term until available funding ceases (Ideally Monday to Friday = 08:40 12:00 and 2 afternoons = 12:50 15:15) There is a degree of flexibility in these hours. Due to the specific needs of one of one of our children in Reception this year, we are looking to appoint a 1:1 LSA to work with them for 20.33 hrs a week. These hours are stated above, but there is scope to flex these possibly for the successful candidate. Ideally, we are looking for someone with previous LSA experience as well as some EYFS experience, although all applicants will be considered for the post. This post requires the successful candidate to work as 1:1 support for a child who is with us with an EHCP already in place for ASD, so any experience in dealing with ASD will be preferable. This is a fixed term post and will expire when the funding for this child ceases. Learning and teaching is key in what we do here at West Wittering and we create and foster great learning environments and develop positive and supportive relationships with all our young people, as well as their families. Therefore, we are looking to appoint someone who can demonstrate their ability to foster positive working relationships with all stake holders. The successful applicant will be someone with a passion for developing learners, no matter what their academic ability, helping them to feel proud of their learning achievements and enabling them to develop skills of independence and communication and nurture their creativity. Intervention and support is vital in our school and this will be an integral part of the role. The successful candidate will be working both in class under the direction of the class teacher, supporting the learning taking place, as well as will be delivering a personalised curriculum offer in places at other times this could be inside or outside of the classroom. The successful candidates will be expected to respond to the changing environment of a primary school, being pro-active, using their initiative and responding to the needs of the teaching staff and leadership team. They will be open-minded, approachable and hard working. Experience working as a previous 1:1,or experience working with children with ASD is a big advantage but are not a necessity.
